I got my first mortgage over three years ago with Lyons Mortgage in Astoria. Two months ago they assisted me with a stramline refinance lowering my rate to 4.75% from 6.375% on my 30 year fixed rate mortgage. Best part was I did not have to start my loan over for 30 years. They continued where my term left off. So I did not lose the three years of payments I already made. So I got a new 30 year mortgage, with a lower rate, saving me nearly $300 monthly and I only have 27 years left on this new mortgage to repay. What a score for me!
