Her love of the hand-written note is a gift passed to her from her late mother, Mrs. Leon of New Orleans. Mrs. Kelly is a southern lady from New Orleans. Southern girls are raised with a sense of courtesy rarely seen these days. The late Mrs. Leon inspired her daughter by setting the example of graciously thanking those who had provided invitations, gifts or courtesies.
