The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Kankakee Community College provides comprehensive information services and access to experts in many fields. It develops and maintains partnerships among community organizations and local, state and federal agencies. The SBDC also provides technical and management assistance through one-on-one counseling and group training to potential business owners. These programs serve small businesses in Kankakee and Iroquois counties. ... SEMINARS are offered on topics of interest to small business owners, including developing a business plan, sales tax compliance, marketing, recordkeeping and financing a business. ... SCORE is a group of volunteers who have had successful business careers as company executives or business owners. The volunteers give free business counseling to new or prospective business owners. ... SBDC NETWORK connects small business owners in Illinois through a network of service providers.
