Carolina Lugo’s Center for Hispanic Cultural seeks to preserve the rich Spanish arts and culture that is a part of California history. We are a non-profit organization that seeks to continue the cultural traditions of the first Spanish Dance company that arrived in California more than 165 years ago. We do this through our Flamenco dance company which seeks to share the rich traditions of dance, music, literature, and culture of Spain with all communities. The Flamenco dance company encourages new artistic creativity within the framework of the Ibero-Hispanic experience. The company represents a diversity of cultures from around the globe, appearing in a broad spectrum of creative mediums, including television, dinner theater, cabaret venues, opera and symphonic formats. The center for Hispanic cultural was founded by award-winning artistic director, dancer, choreographer and master teacher Carolina Lugo. Ms. Lugo is widely regarded as one of the most gifted Flamenco-Spanish dance artists of her generation. She is a master of the castanets and Spanish dance.
