The Empire Zone was created in 1994 with the purpose of offering special state tax incentives to businesses to relocate or expand their operations in our Township. Through the special state tax incentives, businesses are encouraged to hire workers who reside in the town (especially those who come from economically depressed areas, such as the hamlet of North Bellport, NY). This partnership between local businesses, the Town and local residents is intended to foster economic growth within our township. The Town of Brookhaven Empire Zone encompasses 1280 in total with over 500 acres of prime industrial site for development. You and your business can take advantage of the surrounding top ranked universities and centers for advanced technologies.
