We are a local family owned and operated Ice Cream Shoppe and Bakery (wife, husband, two kids and a dog), located in the Junction Shopping Center in DeKalb across from NIU in the former Baskin Robbins location. We strive to provide our community the highest quality desserts and friendly home town service in a pleasant environment. We feature Hershey’s old fashion premium and super premium real ice cream (quality since 1894). We have 30 plus flavors on hand that range 12.4 to 16% butterfat and with very little over run (air whipped into the finished product). Our ice cream is loaded with additional quality ingredients. We also offer all the old fashioned favorites – scoops, sundaes, shakes and smoothies, ice cream sodas and floats. There is never an excuse not to eat ice cream at Sunshine Scoop Shoppe & Bakery– we offer nut free, dairy free, fat free, sugar free and gluten free options. Ask our staff and they’ll direct you to the flavor(s) that will suit your dietary needs. We deliver too! You will also love our fresh baked classic American pies, cakes, brownies and cookies.
