Houston Patient Advocacy is run by Dr. Vik Rajan, the company's president and founder and full-time patient advocate. He is a board certified nephrologist, internist, and pediatrician, and Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine, who got involved with patient advocacy during his medical training when his mother experienced numerous health problems and ultimately needed him to advocate for her care during the last eight years of her life. Upon finishing medical training, having noticed the lack of medically trained patient advocates in Houston, Dr. Rajan formed Houston Patient Advocacy in September 2010 in order to provide patients and families personalized health care guidance and enable them to be more educated and empowered in their medical care.
