At Oak Terrace Healthcare Center, the health and well-being of our residents is our highest priority. We believe in the preservation of dignity, independence and self-respect while encouraging personal ability, life enrichment and a sense of community in a loving and caring environment. We also offer a home-like setting for our residents and encourage the involvement of family members in meeting their special needs and requirements. Accommodations We offer both semi-private and private rooms in each level of care. Oak Terrace provides each resident with a bed, dresser, and nightstand. Residents may bring personal possessions and select furnishings with them to Oak Terrace. This enables the resident to maintain the feeling that Oak Terrace HealthCare Center is an extension of their former home. In addition to their individual rooms, Oak Terrace offers its residents: * A large lounge with seating, fireplace and large screen television * A private lounge that is available to residents for family meals and/or visits * A covered outdoor area where they can enjoy their natural surroundings * A outdoor courtyard with wheelchair height garden boxes About Us Oak Terrace Healthcare Center opened its doors in June 1975 as a private pay facility and has maintained this status to the present. We are licensed by the State of Illinois as a combination shelter and immediate care facility. Oak Terrace provides shelter care for those who are able to complete their own activities of daily living but may need assistance with bathing, meals and medications. For those who require assistance beyond shelter care, intermediate care is also available. The staff at Oak Terrace believes in the value of each individual, the potential for growth and the importance of significant relationships.
