Since 1994, Special Care's primary mission in Lancaster and York Counties has been to help clients remain safe and comfortable in their homes. In the beginning, Special Care consisted of owner Scott Knoll and just a handful of qualified caregivers. Since that time, Scott, along with his wife Joni, have grown their business to include a network of 200+ highly qualified, experienced caregivers, providing service to more than 350 Lancaster and York County families every year. Scott started his career with a mission to help others. Born and raised in Berks County, PA, he received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Shippensburg University. He went on to earn his Masters in Social Work at the University of Denver and became a licensed clinical social worker in Florida before relocating back "home" to start his own business. His background provided him with an understanding of the difficulties people often face with aging family members, and made it his mission to help those families. Scott and Joni take pride in the service they provide and the families they have helped. They are also extremely thankful for their wonderful office staff who are as committed to their business as they are! In the years since Special Care began, the company: Has consistently kept hourly rates lower than local competitors. On average you will spend $5.00 LESS per hour with Special Care and receive the same quality care!
