Welcome! We are a Montessori school with the resources, materials, and staff to provide the best education to the young children and to the families of San Dimas and surrounding communities. The curriculum focuses on developing all aspects of a child's life and is based on well researched and proven techniques formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori. Through her experience and research she established the fact that "The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to age six." Emotional Development - We address skills needed to be a positive member of community. We encourage children to accept and respect individual differences and likenesses and to share experiences with each other and with teachers and friends. We share with our children the joys of helping and giving as well as receiving and being helped. Physical Development - We encourage experiences that will develop large and small muscle coordination and motor skills. Intellectual Development - We encourage children to experience the joys of learning and the intrinsic satisfaction which comes with mastery of concepts and fundamental skills through the creative use of self correcting materials, group & individually focused exercises & activities. Curriculum: Practical Life Art is an integral part of the program. A variety of safe media is available such as easel painting, water color, clay, & crayons.
