At Elkhart School of Music we know that a student's first teacher often has great impact and influence on his/her success. Therefore, we strive to fill our staff with proven teachers who are university trained, highly skilled professionals. Because each student learns in his/her own unique way, a lesson plan is developed to suit each individual. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to sit in on lessons, especially when the student is very young. Regardless of the starting age of the student, from preschooler to 70's and beyond, proper technique and practice habits are stressed right from the start. As the student progresses, we nurture and encourage development by making the learning experience both interesting and fun. In music we use supplemental materials, form student ensembles, and offer several recital opportunities throughout the year. All this helps to keep students motivated while developing the necessary skills to take them forward with limitless potential.
