Every Day for Every Child, Mikayla's Place is guided by our mission to create a safe and nurturing learning environment that inspires exploration, discovery and growth towards a spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially well-balanced child. Mikayla's Place, a Child Development Academy, first opened our doors in 2008 to provide a substantially progressive childcare alternative to the families of the greater Harrisburg community. The first Mikayla's Place, located at 2023 Market Street in Harrisburg, is 8,000 square feet and welcomes close to 200 children from infancy through five years of age. 2010Mikayla's Place dominated the Harrisburg Community over the next two years through word of mouth leading us to expand our footprint and open a second site at 914 South 13th Street. This 28,000 square foot site has the capacity to accomodate almost 400 children. 2011Mikayla's Place exists as the only licensed childcare provider in Dauphin county that accommodates the work schedules of our clientele. In January of 2011 we extended our services to 24 hour care--Monday through Friday. The economy and changing demographic caused us to consider the needs of the families who work varying hours and in various capacities. We're proud that our children see this as their second home. 2013Mikayla's Place annouces the permanent closing of our Market Street location. To ensure the safety of our children and staff members, we decided to close this location. We thank you for your contiued support you have given us over the past five years. 2014 Mikayla's Place announces the future opening of its new location 2328 Locust Lane, Harrisburg PA 17109.
