Dr. Smith is a lifelong native of Southern California. After earning his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his DDS from the prestigious Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at San Francisco's University of the Pacific, he completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Oregon in Portland. In 1989, he earned board certification from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and he also maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Los Angeles Dental Society. For nine years, he also served as editor of the quarterly publication of the Southern California Society of Dentistry for Children, and continues to serve on that organization's executive board.
