Allied Professional Institute, an approved private postsecondary school with the state of California and approved through the Department of Health Services, Laboratory Field Services Branch, offers a 80 hour course in phlebotomy. 40 hours didactic and 40 hours practical. This course is for persons with less than 1040 hours or no on-the-job experience. The student must perform 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures on patients of all ages and weight categories. The individual will receive lectures in preparation for the up coming licensing exam given by the State of California. The 20 hour course is for persons with at least 1040 hours or more of on-the-job experience or volunteer work and have performed a minimum of 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures on patients of all ages and weight categories over the past 5 years or have been working as a phlebotomist. This person will receive the title of Phlebotomy Technician I upon successful completion of the course, national exam and applying to the State for certification.

Types of Interpreting Services We Provide American Sign Language (ASL): Visual Language is grammar and syntax used to communicate by the Deaf /Hard of Hearing population, in its own communities. Bilingual Services (Spanish as the primary language): Bilingual Interpreters have the knowledge and fluency of two different languages (Spanish/English); and they are able to facilitate communication between the two cultures. Video Conferencing: Communication between two or more participants at different sites; using computer networks to transmit audio and visual data. Trilingual Services (Spanish, English and American Sign Language): Trilingual Interpreters are specially trained and have the Language/Cultural knowledge of three different cultures: Latin American Culture, Deaf Culture and English Culture. Trilingual Interpreters are needed to facilitate communication between Spanish speaking and Deaf individuals. Tactile Interpreting: Tactile interpreting provides hand-on-hand signing and fingerspelling to Blind individuals, who have little or no vision.
