After a successful engineering career working in Silicon Valley, Dan turned his energy and analytical skills toward a much different pursuit. Instead of analyzing electronic devices, he uses the practice of Chinese Medicine to diagnose and treat patients. Dan was born and raised in Ohio. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, Dan moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of California, Berkeley. After graduating, Dan spent the next decade working as an engineer in Silicon Valley. After turning to an acupuncturist who was able to successfully resolve several chronic health conditions, Dan was drawn to the medicine. Dan wanted to study it further in an effort to understand how insertion of needles is able to have such profound effects. Dan chose to study acupuncture and herbal medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he received a Master’s of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dan is a licensed acupuncturist with the state of California and is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Dan has lived in the South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco for 14 years. When Dan is not in the office, you can often find him in a yoga or spinning class or out walking his German Shepherd-Corgie mixed breed dog, Sammy.
