Welcome to the Nimbus! We hope you enjoy this preview of our shop in beautiful Downtown Ashland, Oregon. However, there is no substitution for visiting the store in person. For 42 years Nimbus has been offering its customers a fantastic shopping experience. We started as a small custom leather shop and have evolved into a contemporary lifestyle store offering Men and Women the finest, comfortable, elegant clothing, and footwear. Additionally our Gallery is a great place to find the latest in handmade American Craft, Art and Jewelry. We invite you to join Club Nimbus to receive up to date information about our product lines and artists. The Women’s department began in the early 80’s when we broke through the wall of the Men’s department to a lower level building that used to contain the garage for the original Lithia Dodge dealership in Ashland. The space become primarily a shoe store carrying the brands of the day: Frye Boots, Baretraps, 9West, Sbicca, Cherokee, Zodiac and of course Birkenstock. We were one of the first Birkenstock stores on the West Coast. The rest of the space was for Women’s handcrafted leather clothing most of which was made under the supervision of master leather worker Steve Boe. Today Nimbus Women’s is a showcase for fine European inspired design. Nimbus clothing seeks to accent the beautiful shape of women and never to cover up what nature has so well designed. Our shoe lines are a perfect accessory to the clothing and seek to provide comfort as well as high style. Nimbus seeks to present items that are contemporary but never trendy. We offer attention to our clientele to best assist them in finding the ideal outfit for that upcoming special occasion or for no other occasion then to look fabulous. The Men’s Department at Nimbus started with recognizing that 30 years ago clothing for Men was going through a major transformation. Gone were the days that Men had very few choices of colors and designs to choose from. Young designers appeared on the scene ready to give Men many choices and at the same time began pushing forward the shape and fit that today defines the modern man. At Nimbus we look to offer the most contemporary looks in Men’s wear, often looking to Europe for inspiration. Our many shirt lines come in several different fits to give men of all shapes a choice to find the fit that looks and feels good for them. Above all Nimbus offers quality built into every garment we sell. Contemporary classic styling to make a man feel confident and comfortable: that’s Nimbus Men’s wear. The Gallery in Nimbus has evolved since its first day in the 1970’s. Those days we sold handmade clay pots hanging in handmade macrame and candles and mugs with faces as well as beaded jewelry of the day. Today the Gallery features some of the foremost contemporary fine craft found anywhere in America. Noted glass blowers, ceramists, woodworkers and jewelers from all over the United States and Canada are featured along with artists working in oil, water colors and acrylic. We ship everywhere and offer a museum quality experience for anyone wishing to spend time enjoying fine art and craft beautifully displayed.
