Tricia Yu brought Tai Chi to Madison in 1974 and the center continues to provide the highest quality of Tai Chi and Qigong instruction to its students. The center has grown to become one of the healthiest, longest-running schools of its kind in the country. Our center Is a place of peace, healing, nurture and growth for our staff, students and other users of the facility. What is T’ai Chi? Tai Chi is a form of Qigong, a Chinese term for energy cultivation. Tai Chi is a slow graceful Chinese exercise that enhances relaxation skills, mental focus and physical alignment while building leg strength, endurance and stability. This exercise is ideal for increasing flexibility, stamina and coordination. Tai Chi promotes efficiency of movement and economy of effort and its principles apply to all activity. Tai Chi practice incorporates principles for health of body, mind and spirit. These principles help promote harmony in human interactions as well.
