Attorney Fernández is a (2005) past President of the Lee County Bar Association and former Chair of the 20th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, and has served on numerous State/Local Bar Committees: Traffic Rules, Small Claims Rules, Unlicensed Practice of Law, and Professionalism. He has also served on the Second DCA Judicial Nominating Committee and a past President of the Lee County Legal Aid Society. Attorney Fernández has likewise volunteered his time and resources to the Teen Court project, local Lee County High School Mock Trial competitions and the Florida Bar Justice Teaching Program. He is on the Board at several charitable organizations including Habitat For Humanity of Lee & Hendry Counties, Edison Festival of Light and the Southwest Florida Council of the Boys Scouts of America.
