Whether you're after a quiet romantic getaway or a weekend of vigorous outdoor activities, the Kankakee River Valley will calm your soul or awaken your spirit. The Magruder House B&B is a Queen Anne Victorian with jaw dropping curb appeal. Step inside and you are surrounded with original antique oak woodwork. Ten foot ceilings lift the weight of the world from your shoulders. Stained glass windows and crystal chandeliers create a feeling of comfortable elegance. Choose from three guest rooms. The four-room, 700-square-foot Henry's Suite is a luxurious retreat with a sitting room, separate bedroom with a king size four-poster bed, complete kitchen and a private full bath. It could be quite possibly the nicest guest accommodation in Kankakee County. The Oriental Room shares the fantastic guest bath just down the hall with the East Room. The East Room is the smallest of the three guest rooms, but is still sumptuous. A $20 per night "privacy upgrade" to either the Oriental or East Rooms means we won't book the other room making the guest bath exclusively yours. The many amenities of the Inn include: premium bedding and towels; watch your favorite program on the LCD television with built-in DVD player; surf the Net from your own computer using the complimentary Wi-Fi network; enjoy in-room music on the iPod stereos (select rooms); and soft background music plays throughout the first floor. Your privacy and security are paramount. The Innkeepers live on-site, but have separate entrances and living space. You are not intruding by enjoying the common areas of the Inns. The front door is secure with your own access code, plus you have your own key to your guest room. Food and drink are key elements of a first class B&B experience. Our Inns offer a wine and cheese reception hour each Saturday at 5 PM. Fresh fruit is available throughout the day. Inn-made treats are provided in the evening. The guest beverage center has glassware, ice, water, soft drinks and a Keurig coffee/tea machine. Enjoy a complimentary glass of brandy from the vintage decanter. It is okay to bring your own adult beverages. Of course, a hot breakfast is served each morning comprised of fresh fruit and usually an egg dish. The Burr Oak B&B is located right next door to The Magruder House. Rent one or both Inns for larger overnight accommodations, events, and weddings. Both are located in the Riverview Historic District, a collection of Victorian and Edwardian era homes set along side the Kankakee River. The Inns are minutes from everywhere in Kankakeeland, where there is plenty to do. Or just do nothing and relax!

Wikstrom Manor is located in the heart of Momence, Il. Designed and built by A. E. Wikstrom in 1892, the mansion was first used to house Swedish dignitaries visiting Chicago for the 1893 World's Fair and Exposition. It became known as Villa Swea and continued to be used by dignitaries, diplomats and local socialites. Wedding ceremonies at the manor can be held indoors in any of thebeautifully decorated rooms, or outdoors on the large tree-lined lawn that can accommodate up to 250 chairs. Seated reception dinners can accomodate up to 50 guests. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom can relax in the RoseSuite, which features a king-sized bed, a private bath with footed tub, and a spacious sitting room with a fireplace and television. A second-floor balcony offers guests a private, quite retreat for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or evening night-cap.
