I graduated from Reed College with a BA in English, in retrospect a wonderful foundation for listening and coming to understand my clients' life stories. Following my BA, I received an MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching), also from Reed. Some years later, I returned to Portland State University and earned a Master's degree in Social Work. I was a social worker in the heart of London before returning to Portland to begin my private practice.
