Known for its commitment to excellence, small class size, and professional environment, The Ridgefield School of Dance offers dance lessons to everyone, from students who are interested in professional dance as a career to those who are seeking a recreational activity that provides exercise and joy. The Ridgefield School prides itself on offering a wide variety of dance classes in a range of styles, including: * Classical ballet lessons * Jazz classes * Modern dance * Pointe ballet classes * Lyrical dance lessons * Tap dancing classes The dance studio is open to learners ages five and up, and The Ridgefield School offers adult dance classes as well. All of the classes are taught by a faculty of current and former professional dancers whose careers have given them the skills to pass on technique, discipline, and a love of dance to all students who walk through Ridgefield’s doors. Additionally, some Ridgefield students have even gone on to perform in prestigious college dance programs, including the program at Tisch College of New York University and the Purchase College Conservatory of Dance. Ridgefield students will have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills twice a year, during the school’s two annual performances. Each December, the school presents The Nutcracker Ballet. A full-length, classical ballet is chosen for the year-end performance; past performances include Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty Ballet, Swan Lake, and Coppelia. The Ridgefield School of Dance offers lessons in two bright, airy, contemporary studios where students can focus fully on the techniques and styles of the dance classes. Both of the studios have state-of-the-art Rosco dance flooring and a lounge with a large window where family and friends can comfortably watch the dancers.
