About
At the Southwest Center for the Martial Arts, we create an environment with structure and discipline to train martial arts champions. Our mission is to teach traditional Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate; provide a clean, safe, and well-equipped martial arts school; assist in the development of self-discipline and confidence, physical and mental strength of the student; and create positive attitudes. We accomplish our mission through progressive, systematic curriculums and training methods, which are designed to help students achieve ranking objectives and emphasize the character building aspects of karate. Our goal is to assist every student to achieve black belt excellence. Our award-winning programs include youth karate and kobudo training, children’s stranger danger training, and adult karate, jujitsu and kobudu (weapons). We teach Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, a complete martial arts system that incorporates hard, fast, straight-line punches and strikes, powerful kicks, and both hard and soft type effective defense movements. Shorin-Ryu is most appropriate and effective for self-defense, sport, physical fitness, mental discipline, and self-confidence.
