Quality furniture refinishing for over 35 years. Country Caboose Refinishing is a locally owned and operated furniture refinishing business in West Des Moines, Iowa. Country Caboose Refinishing has evolved from several backgrounds. Teaching Industrial Arts and repairing and making projects brought home from garage sales by the wife of the operator. Graduating to flea markets and then to antique shows and then to refinishing shop. This evolution has taken several years to reach its' present stage, all the while exhibiting quality craftsmanship and creating a long list of satisfied customers. Approximate time span - 35 years. Country Caboose is a furniture refinishing, restoration, and touch-up business. The largest portion of our work centers around antique repair and refinishing. We do work on other types of furniture as well. We do touch-up work on newer furniture. Good quality furniture can be revitalized and give many years of service at an affordable price. I started working in my father's welding and plumbing business as a youngster. I received my BA in education of Industrial Arts in 1969 and my MS in 1976. I taught Industrial Arts in secondary schools in Des Moines, IA for 16 years. I was the co-owner/operator of an antique shop for 14 years in Valley Junction, West Des Moines, IA. Since 1985, I have been the full time operator of a refinishing shop/antique shop at the same location. I have been a member of the Des Moines Woodworkers Club since 1985.
