In the early 1900s, the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce was established as a non-profit corporation of voluntary membership that invested time and money to carry forward programs set forth by its Board of Directors. The Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce still carries forth that spirit. Business of The Year Each year, members of the community and the Chamber are eligible to nominate businesses for the Chamber’s Business of the Year awards in four categories based on the number of people the business employs. The awards are presented at a special event each January.
