A minority-owned, community-based and multi-functional non-profit organization called O.J.T.B. (Only Just The Beginning), Inc. in Clinton, MD that specializes in document preparation and business writing, i.e. business plans, grant proposals, preparation of resumes w/accompanying personalized letters, typing of correspondence, reports, statistical and financial data, manuscripts and dissertations. We provide these services for our customers who include individuals, small and medium sized businesses, non-profit organizations and local, state and government agencies. Our most important services include, free of charge, providing our clients (PG County and the DC metropolitan area at-risk youth ages 14 – 24, displaced homemakers, minority and disadvantaged individuals with little or no job experience and those on public assistance), with work skills by providing On-Job-Training. Today even more so than in recent years it is difficult to get your first job. Even the fast-food jobs are being taken, in most cases, as supplemental income by people already employed or retired, due to the current economic state. “I’m sorry, we need someone with job experience.” But you need a job to get the experience!! O.J.T.B. will provide that first job experience to our clients by providing our customers with quality document preparation services. And this is “Only Just The Beginning”. Our key mission is to provide on-job-training to our clients by giving them that first job experience. Our services help reduce poverty by allowing a chance for better jobs, which would in turn allow for a better quality of life and with that a better standard of living. Also by providing these services in the communities where they live, it enables people in the communities to realize and expand their own opportunities and support their youth in the process. The participants gain a marketable skill, work experience, office etiquette, self-confidence, pride, self-sufficiency, self-esteem, a more positive outlook on life and even a paycheck. They are then able to exert better control over their lives and participate in their communities in meaningful and effective ways. At the end of their training they receive copies of resume w/cover letter and a letter of job reference. In addition, our student clients (ages 14 to 19) will receive the volunteer hours necessary for all Prince George's County students, which is one of the criteria for graduation from high school. Our objective is also to provide our customers with document preparation/business writing services that will help them take their first crucial step down the road to realizing their dreams of having their own business; help them become more successful by utilizing financial resources available; help their established businesses expand and prosper; and to become a leader in document preparation/business writing.
