The purpose of Sprouts Childcare Center of Westminster, which was opened as an expansion of our original Sprouts of Finksburg is to provide Westminster and its surrounding neighborhoods, including commuters form Littlestown and route 97, a high quality learning environment for children. Our Philosophy Our philosophy of "Educate from the Ground Up" is based on the knowledge that child development is divided into four key areas: Social/Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, and Language. Programs Provided Infants and Toddlers: We know that the first two years of life are critical to a child's development. During this delicate period, children are discovering who they are and how others respond to them. Preschoolers: As they learn to understand others and express their ideas more efficiently, the environment for a preschooler becomes larger and richer. In addition to this growth, preschoolers are changing physically and gaining strength, agility, and coordination. School Agers: Children ages 5 to 9 years of age can be enrolled in our Before and After-school Program. From our Westminster location, transportation is provided to and from Charles Carroll Elementary School. An afternoon snack, homework help, and other enriching activities are planned and implemented through the program. Older children will be able to plan their own afternoon schedule.
