A mission of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Diocese of the West, the ancient faith has come to Central Oregon. Father James McKee, the first full time priest of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church has come to Bend and serves all of central Oregon. The Orthodox faith has apostolic succession and preserves Apostolic doctrines and defends the fullness of the New Testament faith. We have the Eucharist which is the very center of Christian worship and has been since Apostolic times. Reading the Scriptures is an important part of our worship called liturgy which literally means “the common work” or “the work of the people.” We continue the definable shape of the early Christian worship to this day.
