When people think of going to church, they usually think of that event which occurs on Sunday morning for the local congregation. While that is true, worship, of course, is not limited to Sunday morning. We can worship God anytime, anywhere. However, in lieu of our Lord’s explanation of The Ten Commandments–to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself–the Christian Church long ago set aside Sunday mornings as the time for God’s people to gather in Jesus’ name. They did so because Jesus was resurrected on the third day–Sunday is the third day after his crucifixion on Good Friday. So, we gather regularly at Concordia to receive all the gifts our Lord gives us in his service to us.
