The year 2012 was an exciting one at Sunrise Retirement Community. We opened our new $14 million, state-of-the-art Health Center for skilled nursing care, assisted living and assisted living memory care. Based on a neighborhood delivery system, each neighborhood has its own residential kitchen and dining area, great room, fireplace and adjacent gardens. Residents enjoy their private room, each with a full bath and shower and a wireless call system for assistance. The health center features a beautiful indoor park - complete with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a courtyard with a beautiful fountain and wheelchair swing. Adjacent to the indoor park is the chapel/community life center. Our new health center is an investment in the community, and it renews our mission to serve seniors for generations to come. Sunrise is Siouxland’s only community based, not-for-profit retirement governed by a local volunteer board of directors. Sunrise has been leading the way in senior care for over 50 years. The Pointe at Sunrise, our new independent living community for seniors, is a recent addition to our 35-acre campus. We are pleased to welcome new residents to this special new home. We encourage you to learn more about our many communities that make Sunrise special. Our Mission Caring deeply. Connecting daily. Leading boldly. Serving faithfully. Our Vision Forward-thinking and person-centered, Sunrise Retirement Community will be recognized as Siouxland’s highest quality, most active and comprehensive senior living community of choice. Philosophy of Care At Sunrise Retirement, we’re proud of our resident-centered care philosophy. It’s an approach that zeroes in on individual needs and ensures "freedom of choice" for our residents. Essentially, it means strive to be more inviting (and less institutional) in today’s world of senior care. We urge residents to enjoy more independence, privacy, and flexibility in their daily lives — and we provide each resident with what works best for him or her. Sunrise has also embraced the Eden approach, which connects residents with children, pets, and green space to enhance their quality of life. Not-For-Profit Organization As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we continually invest our resources and any annual revenue back into care and services for our residents. Sunrise Retirement is funded through Medicare and Medicaid, third party sources, and private payment. We also welcome monetary and volunteer contributions from those interested in supporting Sunrise. Nondiscrimination Statement With regard to admission, participation, or employment practices, Sunrise Retirement Community does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, or age.

Siouxland Community Health Center

📍 1021 Nebraska St, Sioux City, IA, 51101

📞 712-252-2477

Siouxland Community Health Center was founded in 1992 as a joint effort of local hospitals St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center (then Marian Health Center) to respond to the unmet health care needs among the underserved in the community. The health center began as a small health clinic with 12 staff, including one provider. Since that time, SCHC has grown to become a comprehensive home for quality health care services that is designed to ensure that every need is met for all that walk through our doors. Our growth is a testament to our commitment to the community. We offer care that is culturally competent and matched to patient needs, including direct interpretation services in multiple languages including Spanish, Vietnamese, French, Somali, and Oromo. Our partnership with various agencies throughout the community, as well as multiple service sites is part of our patient-centered approach.
