We are family owned and operated and have been since 1984. Our home and business is located here in Camas, Wa. Over 95% of our work is in the Camas/Washougal area and Skamania County. We know the area and what works well here. I will work harder than anyone out there to make sure you're more than happy with our work. I put my name and reputation on every job we do. Our last customer is our next referral. I started working for another landscaper back in 1980, it was the owner myself and one other guy, and shortly after starting I got the flu so my dad, Howard Hurd Sr took over for me since he had been laid off from the shipyards. When I was well again, I went back to work and the owner decided to keep my father and me both and we worked for him throughout the season. He was a great salesman but not so good of a landscaper, we knew that we could do better for ourselves and our customers. We started Howard Hurd Landscaping in 1982 with a business license and we were bonded and insured in 1984.We started out slowly buying only what he had cash for, we were doing mostly maintenance at this time and my dad retired in 96 and my wife started in 97. My heart was in design and construction so in 2002 we eliminated the maintenance portion of our business so we can focus on construction. Then in 2005 I went to a synthetic rock building course in Gigs Harbor, and this is where we learned to build stairs, water features, walls etc. With the knowledge gained from this course we realized we can build virtually anything. This is what I enjoy doing and what I do on my time off, so it is my work and my hobby.
