Dr. Bodensieck has been licensed as a psychologist in NY State since 1991. Dr. Bodensieck’s education and training incorporates psychological concerns from across the life span. Post-graduate work has included: Astor Child Guidance, Montgomery County Mental Health, and the UCP Early Intervention Program. Dr. Bodensieck’s orientation toward the treatment of young children is from the temperament/developmental perspective. In parent counseling, parents are helped to understand how their child’s temperament influences the way he or she interacts socially and behaviorally. Adult psychotherapy usually follows the cognitive or interpersonal perspective. Dr. Bodensieck also enjoys working with clients on stress management and pain management. Hypnosis and bio-feedback training are available for the treatment of anxiety, stress, and nicotine cessation.
