Dr. Sean Lai graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He obtained his MD from the Washington University of St. Louis School of Medicine. He completed the General Surgery Residency Program in the University of Washington at Seattle, followed by a two year residency program in Internal Medicine and another three year specialty fellowship in Gastroenterology at the UCLA affiliated Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Lai is board certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. In addition to his private practice, he is a clinical assistant professor, and has been teaching endoscopy to UCLA gastroenterology fellows at the GI Clinic of UCLA / VA Medical Center in Los Angeles and UCLA / Harbor General Hospital in Carson over the last 20 years.

She was invited into the honor societies of Tau Kappa Omega, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Beta Phi, and she graduated with high honors among the top 5 in her class. She was awarded 1st place for excellence in removable prosthodontics, and was presented with the Dr. William W.Y. Goon Student Dentistry Award for excellence in endodontics and clinical sciences. Following graduation, she completed a one year General Practice Residency at the Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Palo Alto, California. She has spent time since in both private practice, and as a staff dentist for the VA.
