Dr. Wolkomir is a graduate of both Muhlenberg College and St. George's University School of Medicine. Following his time there, he served as the Chief Resident of General Surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey. He then went to the Ferguson Clinic in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he was a Resident in Colon-Rectal Surgery. Dr. Wolkomir then opted to return to his home state of New Jersey to open his own colon and rectal surgery practice in Red Bank, where he has been practicing since 1990. Furthermore, Dr. Wolkomir is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS). He is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and received re-certifications in 2002 and 2012. Additionally, Dr. Wolkomir has written many surgical papers and has presented at both national and international meetings of professionals. On the subject of patient care, Dr. Wolkomir prides himself on the personalized nature of his approach, stating that "I will try my best to see you promptly and explain your condition to you in a personal and direct way." All components of patient evaluation and any procedure that may need to be done are personally performed by Dr. Wolkomir. Dr. Wolkomir has been married to his wife Patricia for over 20 years, and they have two children together.
