Charles Jones, MD, was one of the first surgeons in the country to remove cataracts with phaco-emulsification and use implantable lenses in the mid 1970s- transforming the outcomes and safety of cataract surgery for thousands of patients. When we opened our current location in 1987, we were among a handful of practices in the country to offer outpatient cataract surgery in a surgery center. In 2003, Jason Jones, MD, became the second generation of surgeons devoted to advancing cataract surgery at Jones Eye Clinic. Recently, we became the first practice in the Midwest and the fourth in the country to offer laser assisted cataract surgery with the Catalys™ femtosecond laser- bringing a whole new level of precision to cataract surgery. Yian Jones, MD, joined our practice in 2009. She is the only fellowship trained surgeon in the area for functional and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and face. Her unique skills enable her to treat dry eyes, watery eyes, decreased vision, and skin diseases associated with the eyelids and brow. She offers elective services such as facelifts and non-surgical treatments with Botox™ and dermal fillers.
