The day after Hurricane Charley in 2004, we were call down to Punta Gorda Isles to start rebuilding hundreds of pool enclosures damaged or just gone from that storm. When we arrived the damage was just unspeakable. I thought what if it was my family, my home, now with no windows or roof. I decided it was now the time to start providing hurricane protection for all my customers. That’s when Shutter Safe was born. My ideas for the business was simple, yet rarely duplicated in this industry: Controlling overhead costs will equal lower pricing. By dealing direct with the owner, customers pay no salesman commission. Providing a quality product with honest and superior customer service creates more customer referrals and less advertising costs. It's no secret that outfitting your entire home or business with hurricane shutters can be very pricey. There are many reasons for this, but one of the main reasons is that most all shutter companies have very large overhead costs. Manager's salaries, salesman commissions and bonuses, fancy showrooms, and expensive advertising are only a few of the overhead costs that drive prices up. I HAVE NONE OF THAT. Yet my products come from the same factories and have to pass the same Florida Building Codes. My installers are clean, professional and experts with whom I have worked with for years.
