The Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC) provides a nurturing environment for people to discover, develop and express their artistic vision. Located on a two-acre campus four miles east of downtown Dallas, CAC offers more than 500 classes and workshops per year in such disciplines as ceramics, clay sculpture, creative writing, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal arts, mosaic, painting, photography, printmaking, stone carving and woodworking. Cultivating creativity for nearly 50 years, CAC also offers free arts programming to disadvantaged children. Not only a visual arts school, CAC is a thriving arts community for a diverse range of students from teens to seniors.

African American Performing Arts and Live Music Concerts, Free Art Exhibits, Weekend Jazz Piano Classes and Artist Workshops in South Dallas TX: South Dallas Cultural Center, the premier performing arts institute of South Dallas operating under the auspices of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, invites the public to music and fine arts events in South Dallas. The South Dallas Cultural Center's facility features a 120-seat black box theater; a visual arts gallery; studios for dance; two-dimensional arts; fiber; media arts; printmaking; and photography to serve the DFW Metroplex. The Center also has a full service digital recording studio to serve the Dallas and Fort Worth metro areas. Classes held in these studios help inspire in both the young and old love of art from the African Diaspora. The school is located near the heart of downtown Dallas, close to the city's thriving business community, arts district, cultural attractions, shopping, and entertainment. The school facilities have been designed with the creative student in mind. Spacious classrooms, studios equipped with industry-related software and hardware, professional skills kitchens, and both Mac and PC computer labs offer a productive learning atmosphere. The school also includes a library resource center, student gallery, student deli, art supply store, staff and faculty offices and other amenities. Also on campus is the Chef’s Gallery, a restaurant open to the public and that is operated by senior level culinary students and overseen by professional chef faculty. Each degree program here is offered year-round, on a quarter system, allowing students to continue to work uninterrupted toward graduation. Academic programs are carefully structured with the support and contributions of members of the professional community through Program Advisory Committees. Curricula are further reviewed by faculty and industry professionals periodically to ensure they meet the needs of a changing marketplace to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in their chosen fields. Many faculty here are working professionals in their respective fields. By tapping into this pool of recognized talent, the school brings a real-world perspective, work setting and industry standards into the classroom. Likewise, many students gain on-the-job skills through participation in internship or externship experiences at local companies and nationally recognized corporations.
