Like a seed inside a lemon or the coal inside the earth, the ability to learn what you seek to learn is already in you. We are here to help you find it. Learning Encounters is an academic enrichment center for students in grades 4 - 9. Through small group workshops, students are taught high level skills in a friendly and casual atmosphere. We emphasize skills traditionally taught in the classroom, and then enrich, expand upon, and allow for additional practice and experience with the concepts presented. Learning Encounters began in 1995 as a group of students sat around a dining room table at their teacher's house. Today we've grown into a 3,000 square foot facility, with six classrooms and an activity room filled with books, jigsaw puzzles, board games, logic problems, word searches, crossword puzzles, electronic games, a refrigerator filled with cold beverages, and tables with an array of delicious snacks. ISEE WORKSHOP: For students in grades 6 - 9 Limit 8 students per group. For students in 5th grade, Saturday morning classes and Tuesday afternoon classes are forming for Fall 2015. Once you submit your enrollment form, you will be contacted within two business days. We will set up a phone appointment so that we can answer your questions, and you can tell us more about your child. The ISEE Workshop includes practice materials created by Learning Encounters, a pre-test to assess needs, and an informational program for parents. The core program consists of twelve 2 1/2 hour weekly meetings + 5 in-home Online Practice Tests. Test-taking strategies are built into each lesson. We closely monitor the progress of each student and keep an open line of communication with parents. Pretesting and a Parent Presentations are free, but space is limited.
