In 1981 Philip Thomas, Stephen Thomas and Waren Barry opened a 20 table bar/restaurant named “Uncle Sam’s” in Springfield, VA. It was one of the first restaurant/bars in Northern Virginia and quickly became the most popular. Three years later the name changed from “Uncle Sam’s” to “Kilroy’s.” When the drinking age changed from 18 to 21, the owners chose to change the bar image to a more family oriented restaurant/bar atmosphere. Kilroy’s is privately owned. Our ability to maintain a great and close relationship with our customers keeps them coming back. We cater to a diverse crowd and many of our original customers continue to bring their children and family members to our welcoming establishment. Hosting weekly and monthly events in our restaurant allows our customers to get together and enjoy their private functions ranging from business events, team lunches and birthdays to holiday celebrations, reunions, college parties and much more. Customer satisfaction and high-quality food are our highest priorities. Our ability to differentiate our restaurant by emphasizing consistently high-quality food and service at a reasonable price has allowed Kilroy’s to gain and retain its outstanding reputation and brand name. Kilroy’s is known for its excellent prime rib and its diverse entree and dessert menus. Kilroy’s also has a beautiful and spacious patio which is open all year long. We have hungry hour specials every day along with our famous Wednesday Night College Karaoke specials. We also provide gift certificates for that special gift. Over the past 29 years, Kilroy’s has thrived as a result of their enthusiasm for the hospitality industry and much hard work from hundreds of the greatest people in the industry.
