Merion Memorial Park is a 31 acre cemetary, over 100 years old and was originally owned by Mr. James Smart. Mr. Smart was a man who loved and respected people from all walks of life. He established this Memorial Park for people of all color and all religions. Throughout time Merion Memorial has been passed down from generation to generation. On November 13, 1884, it was purchased by John J. Laird and his wife Katie. Later it was purchased by the Honorable Hopson Reynolds and his wife Evelyn along with their business associates and long time friends the White family.
