Our Founder, E.G. McGahan was born and raised on a farm in Paulding County, Ohio. As one of thirteen brothers and sisters, he learned at an early age the value of a hard days work and the benefit of good character and values. In 1944 this country was in the throws of WWII and E.G. McGahan found himself a soldier on the front lines for two years in France and Germany. During perilous nights in the foxholes, Mr. McGahan would play word games in his mind to occupy himself so as not to fall asleep and be ambushed by Hitler's army. He had seen the word "Ville" on houses when he fought across France. He concluded that the "Ville" stood for house. He decided if he ever owned a furniture business he would call it R-Ville, for OUR-House. In 1949 R-Ville was born when Mr.McGahan broke ground at 2185 N.West St. Lima. Since then R-Ville has grown from one of the smallest furniture stores in Northwestern Ohio, to one of the largest, in its 56 year history.
