As early adaptors to this ‘cash for gold’ phenomenon, the Sadoffs got the idea to buy gold as they realized that several market factors were all coming together into play – higher gold stock prices, combined with a slumping economy driving people, made the decision for the public to sell their out of date gold jewelry – and it seemed to make sense. The Sadoffs got their start from setting up gold buying ‘daily events’ in local area hotels throughout the Chicago suburbs, coining the name “Midwest Gold Buyers” (M.G.B.)
