What is Daley Care? An organized, controlled and monitored environment for a group of friendly dogs to interact and play throughout the day in an enclosed building or yard. Scheduled activities will depend on the individual daycare owner, but typically there is a rest period where the dogs may nap during the day, which may be in individual housing. The purpose of dog daycare is to provide stimulation, exercise, socialization, and in some cases training for a dog that might otherwise be left home alone during the day. The owner of the dog receives peace of mind knowing their dog is being cared for by experienced professionals and will be just as tired as they are at the end of a busy day. Why should I consider Daley Care for my dog? Many dogs are left home for extended periods of time throughout the day. Busy owners often come home tired and are unable to give their dog the amount of exercise and play their dog really needs to maintain physical and mental health. Without adequate exercise, dogs sometimes develop problems like destructive behavior, incessant barking and regression in their housebreaking. Guilty owners add to this by overdoing activity on the weekends and feeding treats to make Fluffy happy (and fat). Dogs are active and social animals, they need to run and romp regularly and for most dogs, the chance to play with other dogs is a joy like no other! For owners with puppies, the most important period in a puppy’s life is prior to 16 weeks when all the experiences they have help to form a fairly "permanent" adult personality. Animal Behavior experts agree it is very important to socialize your puppy well to give your dog the best start in life. Daley Care can provide excellent socialization opportunities with other dogs and other people. Why is there an interview? The interview is for your protection as well as for the other people and dogs at the dog daycare. The interview helps to determine if your dog is right for dog daycare (wants to be around other dogs and people), helps address your concerns and expectations, makes sure your dog is up-to-date with the needed vaccinations and preventatives. It also allows you to tour the facility so you feel good about the process and where your dog will play. If I need daycare, but my dog doesn't pass the interview, what other options do I have? If your dog is not accepted into a daycare there may be several reasons, which the interviewer should make clear. They should also explain what you could do to improve the situation (if your dog is unruly or aggressive) or suggest other options. If your dog does not pass the interview at one location, you may want to check with another daycare in the area to see if your dog is compatible with their playgroups. Alternatives to dog daycare are day boarding (your dog would stay in a dog run/kennel during the day) or Pet sitting, having an individual attend to your dogs needs (feeding, walking, etc.) in a daily visit to your home during the day. What are clients saying about Daley Care? Description of Work: Daley Care picks up my dog every day and walks him for at least an hour, they also watch him when ever I am on vacation or away from home. Comments: My dog is a very high energy, large hound dog. When my dog walker quit because of his high energy level I contacted Daley Care to see if they could walk him for me. I spoke with Margaret on the phone and she said she would be happy to take him, after a brief interview of my dog (probably to make sure he was not aggressive for the safety of the other dogs she walks) I hired Daley Care to walk my dog while I am at work, I am absolutely amazed with the service. I am gone every week day for 10-14 hours a day, when I get home my dog is already warn out, he has started responding to commands better and has become an overall better dog. I have also hired Daley Care to watch him while I am out of town for sometimes up to a week. Margaret and her team are extremely professional, know
