About Us The Mettler Institute for Physical Therapy features an innovative approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions, the Mettler Release Techniques (also known as Mrt). We combine Mrt with traditional physical therapy methods, resulting in faster, more complete and longer-lasting recoveries. Founder Paul R. Mettler, P.T., D.P.T., opened his first clinic, Mettler Therapy Services, in Champaign IL in 1997, sharing a location with The Mettler Center, a fitness and wellness facility.
