The McKenzie Method or mechanical diagnosis and therapy (mdt) is a system of evaluation and treatment of mechanical spinal and extremity pain developed by New Zealand physical therapist Robin McKenzie. It is practiced extensively throughout the world in 40 countries and on 5 continents. Mdt is an active treatment philosophy that emphasizes teaching the patient how to manage and treat the pain themselves. The patient is encouraged to take an active role in their own recovery with the emphasis on patient independence of self treatment and prevention. With over 20 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine, Jeff has established a state of the art physical therapy practice with 12 locations to conveniently serve you. At Ppts you will receive rehabilitation from one of our team of therapists backed by several decades of combined experience. Our staff has acquired specialized training in spine care, hand rehabilitation, post surgical rehabilitation, shoulder rehabilitation, foot/ankle care, joint replacement therapy, sports therapy care, industrial rehabilitation, knee rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, gait / biomechanical assessment, and foot orthotics. Many of our staff members are board-certified orthopedic clinical specialists (Ocs). All of our team members will eventually sit for the board certification. The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties of the American Physical Therapy Association has awarded Specialist Certification to those who have met certain requirements. To obtain board certification, candidates must successfully complete a rigorous written examination, demonstrating specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency in orthopedics.
