From Darkness to Light(FDTL) is a support and advocacy group for anyone living with a mental illness. We act under the following beliefs: -Since we all experience the pain and difficulties of mental illnesses, we should treat every other member with understanding. Surrounding ourselves with people that understand, helps us have a better focus on our own recovery. -Our treatment plan should not consist only of medication. There are many other ways we can help ourselves get better, and we should try out different coping mechanisms to see what works best for us. We don't have to do this alone. That's what the group is for! -Together, we can stomp out the stigma of mental illness through advocacy work and the examples we set and attitudes we have towards our illnesses. -We don't have to do it alone!
