The mission of Super Stars Learning Center is to provide the best in individualized care and instruction by employing multiple modes of instruction to cater to various learning styles. Children enrolled at Super Stars engage in developmentally appropriate activities used to scaffold their learning and development. Nashoba Montessori School is a place where your child can reach their fullest potential in a learning environment which promotes respect, independence, and personal achievement. Nashoba Montessori School, inc. was established in 2000. The director is certified in Montessori Education, holds a B.S. in Elementary Education, and is a member of the American Montessori Society, International Montessori Society, Montessori Foundation and the Massachusetts Teachers’ Association. “The goal of early childhood education should not be to fill a child with facts from a set course, but rather to cultivate his own natural desire to learn.” - Dr. Maria Montessori We offer an enriched curriculum based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy for early childhood development. Believing that a child’s early development is a critical factor in later success, we offer an environment that promotes a lifelong love for learning. Children are given the basics of all-future studies; Science/Nature, Math, Language, Art, Music, Cultural Studies and Cooking. Children are free to work at their own pace with materials they have chose. The teacher relies on his/her own observations of the children to determine which new activities and material may be introduced to challenge and ensure success for the child. The aim is to encourage active learning. A child’s fine motor skills, care of the environment, care of self, as well as grace and courtesy develop through activities in daily living. The sensorial materials develop the skills of observation in every sense, develop rich vocabulary, as well as an appreciation of the materials used. Language develops through many materials in the classroom. Stories, songs, poems, the vocabulary used in geography and science, and the tactile sandpaper letters all contribute to a multi-faceted approach to learning. Math concepts initiate with concrete materials including sorting, counting and problem solving. Eventually, children move on to use the many math materials available in our classrooms.
