Cody's Homestead has been on the same corner for 43 years! We closed to remodel in November 2011. We were almost finished with our remodel in April and had a fire. Having the fire pushed back our open date to November 2012. We were closed for a full year...But we are back in business! The same owner. The same great homemade foods that we have always been known for. Homemade Pies, Homemade Potato bread that we make into toast to go with one of our delicious breakfasts! We make our own scrapple! We also have an All-You-Can-Eat Soup and Salad Bar that has our homemade salad dressings, Salads and Soups! We also have Prime Rib 7 days a week. We run lunch and supper specials. Skyline Bar & Casinos- Where Friends Meet On Sept. 23, 1983, Joe & Joanie Christiansen took over the Skyline Bar, purchasing it from Sally & Wally Hart. Joe said to Joanie, “We’ll build up the business and in two years, we’ll sell.” And Joanie said OK. Two years later, things were going better than they expected, so Joe said to Joanie, “In five years, we’ll sell.” And Joanie said OK. And when the fifth year arrived, things were even better, and besides that, they were having fun. Joe didn’t say anything. And that was OK. Being spouses in business together can be challenging, but they endured for 21 years, 11 months, until Joe lost his battle with esophageal cancer in August of 2004. Now Joanie is joined in the business with her daughter, Janelle Hutton. Along with a great staff, they continue to set the pace for what a friendly neighborhood bar should be.
