Confections For Any Occasion started in the year 2000 by Joel Bernhard. Joel became interested in candy making in his advanced baking class where he learned to make chocolate truffles. Since Joel is blind candy making is something that he discovered he could excel in. Joel's interest in baking and candy making inspired him to become an entrepreneur in the confectionary industry. In 2000, Joel started his business by making candies and cookies and selling them to family and friends. He did this by renting a local restaurant's kitchen to make his candy and other confections. After a few years Joel outgrew his current facility and wanted to open his own store. In December of 2002 Joel opened his candy shop in downtown Theresa, Wisconsin.
