ASDANCECONNECTION is a private studio that specializes in STRESS FREE lessons for people of all ages, abilities, nationalities and cultures. Andrey Stanev is a professional dance teacher who was born and raised in Bulgaria. Starting his career at an early age, he became very successful and won the Bulgarian National Championship for Ballroom and Latin Dance in 2000-2001. Shortly after Andrey graduated from the National Sport Academy, he moved to the United States to expand his career. His ambitious and creative spirit brought him to the front steps of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Bedford Hills, New York. His determination and hard work made him an expert in all International and American style dancing in a very short time. While working for Fred Astaire Dance Studio Andrey was acknowledged as a top teacher and received the Award for Outstanding Performance in the advance department of teaching. In 2006, he started his own dance studio ASDANCECONNECTION in Thornwood, NY and Manhattan, offering private lessons to individuals, couples and competitive dancers. Andrey believes that learning to dance should be fun and STRESS FREE. He brings humor, respect and innovative teaching techniques to put students at ease. He is generous with positive encouragement so students can be excited about their progress. Each lesson begins with instructions in the basic steps, then moves to basic turns followed by intermediate combinations, and finally more complex variations. Andrey begins each lesson by demonstrating the move or the entire combination of up to twelve elements to his student. Then he breaks it down into parts. The student repeats every move slowly without any music, and afterwards practices to the rhythm of the music. It's easy to see that students easily master the dances, gain confidence and have the time of their lives!

The Alcott School was founded by two professional educators, Arlene Donegan and Katherine Rohrs, in September of 1968. For more than 40 years, Alcott School has served children ages 2-6 years old. From modest beginnings at the Bryn Mawr Park Presbyterian Church in Yonkers, to the current locations in Dobbs Ferry and Scarsdale, on Crane Road and its newest location at Temple Shaarei Tikvah on Fox Meadow Road, the Alcott School has given thousands of the community’s children a quality start. Truly a pioneer in the field – as it was not yet fashionable to put one’s child in a preschool program in the 1960’s – the Alcott School understood and acted on the importance of such issues as “school readiness” and developmental appropriateness in education.
