The Downward Dog Yoga Studio offers teacher training in partnership with Finding Inner Peace Yoga School in Abington. 200 Hour Curriculum includes: 100 Hours: Yoga Techniques Asanas, Pranayamas, Kriyas, Chanting, and Meditation. Includes both training in the techniques and practice of them. 30 Hours: Yoga Teaching Methodology Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, and the student's process of learning. Techniques include: • Chair Yoga • Yoga for Seniors • Prenatal Yoga • Yoga for Children • Partner Yoga • Restorative Yoga • Body Awareness 30 Hours: Anatomy & Physiology Includes basic introduction to anatomy of movement, physiology of poses, structural alignment and the human energy system. 30 Hours: Philosophy, Ethics & Yogic Lifestyle Study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and other scripture, Codes of Ethics for Yoga Teachers, Moral Precepts and Practices of Purification (kriya) and Kirtan (mantra). 10 Hours: Student Practicum Hours of documented student teaching, assisted or observing other approved teachers.
